Designed for someone who's already studied GRE math principles.

One thing's for sure, there's a lot of these cards. Unfortunately, they're not principle oriented, they question oriented. In other words, they're basically a GRE math quiz in notcard form. If you need to start from scratch, like many folks who haven't taken math courses in a number of years, these cards wont get you there. You'll need preliminary material to get you started.

A bit too complicated for flash cards

I was hoping they would be more going over basic GRE rules and some sample problems - but the entire SET are complicated GRE questions. Personally, I am TERRIBLE at math so every card I have to have my Electrical Engineer of a boyfriend walk me through it. If you have a great grasp on math, these would be helpful for you to study from while, say, commuting on public transport or waiting for an appointment. However, if you're looking for a refresher course, these cards aren't very helpful. They are a nice supplement to study materials though.

Great exercise cards!

If you're looking for exercises to put in practice what you've learned for the GRE, these cards are great! I'm not sure if they would work as well if they're the only available material you'll have; but for practice they are quite useful and they come with a very helpuful explanation of each problem on the back.

A Must for Men

My husband and I pretty much read all Dr. Sears' books...we think he's great. I bought this book in particular for my husband as what I feel is the perfect "men's health" guide. He liked it a lot and put it into practice right away. Well all I can say is he's doing great. I definitely recommend this book to any male over 40 who is looking to achieve a healthy life.

Not for Men only!

This book is a must read for both men and women. I initially read the book to see what topics affect men today, but then I realized this affects everyone. You see it everyday... Thirteen year old girls developed and appearing as if they are 21+ years old. Unreal! In learning how environmental chemicals and today's food can affect men so drastically it made me think what it is doing to me. This is a book to give to everyone to all your friends and family.

Great Programs

I am a believer in Dr. Sears...I started out by purchasing the PACE book for myself and had such great success with the program. Could not believe how quickly I increased my stamina, reduced my body fat and just plain felt better. So excited that I found an exercise program that I could stick to with minimal efforts and maximum results I shared it with my family who to date has seen the same results. Because I was so impressed with Dr. Sears PACE program I decided to purchase Dr's Heart Cure and 12 Secrets to Virility for my Dad who has heart disease and diabetes. By slowly applying the principles of both books my Dad is now living a healthier and happier life. Dr. Sears gives sound, easy to follow and effective advice that anyone can do. I just purchased his new Sun book and can't wait to see what I can do to improve my health next. Please keep the books coming Dr. Sears, me and my family can't get enough!

There is little question that the author is extremely intelligent and knows the software

There is little question that the author is extremely intelligent and knows the software. But he has a long way to go before he can write a textbook in English without an English editor. I tried really hard to follow his words and ideas, but I was not able (and I've been using Autocad since version 2 arrived in the 1970's) English words, yes, but not used in phrases that always made sense in my native tongue. All the book needs is an American or English editor.

Pizer demonstrates the concept's ongoing viability through an in-depth reading of the contemporary Syrian-German transnational novelist Rafik Schami. He also provides a clear methodology for World Literature courses in the twenty-first century.

Pizer argues persuasively that Weltliteratur can provide cohesion to the study of World Literature today. In his view, traditional "World Lit" classes are limited by their focus on the universal elements of literature. A course based on Weltliteratur, however, promotes a more thorough understanding of literature as a dialectic between the universal and the particular. In a practical guide to teaching World Literature by employing Goethe's paradigm, he explains how to help students navigate between the extremes of homogenization on the one hand and exoticism on the other, learning both what cultures share and what distinguishes them.

Rieman, maker of reproduction Shaker furniture and coauthor of The Shaker Chair (Univ. of Massachusetts Pr., 1992), and Burks, former curator at Canterbury Shaker Village, have created a comprehensive, well-documented guide to Shaker furniture. While most Shaker furniture books illustrate the classic "period of gospel simplicity" from 1820 to 1850, this book illustrates all periods of Shaker furniture, showing that Shaker styles actually reflected the tastes of the time, simple when neoclassical was popular and becoming more ornate as tastes changed to Victorian. Beginning with a broad description of the Shaker religion, lifestyle, and furniture-making, the book progresses to descriptions of each bishopric and its furniture and artisans. Bible of Shaker Furniture

Terrific summary of Shaker furniture, bishopric by bishopric! Includes detailed description of hundreds of pieces of cabinetwork, chairs, tables and built-ins. Rieman approaches his task with care and the knowledge of a furniture maker as well as the care and analysis of a scholar. I would call it the bible of Shaker Furniture.

Not as new as expected

The book came and the dust jacket was torn and it had some water damage. Not enough to return but when the book is stated as "new" you expect new condition.

Excellent book, beautiful pictures; but see my warning below

Probably because it is one of the newer books on Shaker furniture, this one seems to be the most accurate on the provenance of the many surviving Shaker items. It appears they have done an excellent job of deciphering where a piece was made regardless which village it was found.
THERE IS WARNING HOWEVER! Don't be fooled by what they mean by "The Complete Book." They use the word complete to mean, that in addition to covering the "Shaker Golden Years" of 1830 to around 1850, they have included items from the 18th to the 20th century.
With approximately 400 beautiful illustrations, they can't possibly cover every important piece of Shakerdom. To my disappointment, they did not discuss the particular 12 to 20 foot benches of two slightly differing styles that I have seen pictured in the meeting room at Sabathday Lake. Nor did they show the small wall clock at Sabathday Lake that I wanted to know about.
The authors certainly accomplished their goals of descibing the various, differing forms used by the different locatations over the approximate 150 years covered.
For me the final test is, would I buy it again -- Abosolutely.
