The second section of the book focuses on WAIS–IV use and interpretation with special clinical applications and populations, including with multicultural clients, in neuropsychological settings, with individuals experiencing psychological disorders, and with older adults. About the Author
Lawrence G. Weiss, PhD is Vice President of Test Development for Pearson Clinical Assessment. He oversees a department of 150 professionals and is responsible for all research and test development activities related to the company’s psychological, educational, speech, language, and occupational therapy assessment products as well as post college admissions tests. He also advises on test development activities for the company’s international business partners around the globe including Pearson Clinical Assessment offices in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, The Netherlands, India, China, Spain, and Brazil.

Dr. Weiss has presented widely on intelligence in more than a dozen countries. He has authored or co-authored the following 7 graduate level text books:

• WISC-III Cross Cultural Analyses: Culture and Children’s Intelligence (2003)
• WISC-IV Clinical Use and Interpretation (2005)
• WISC-IV Advanced Clinical Interpretation (2006)
• WISC-IV Clinical Use and Intervention (2008)

• Advanced Clinical Assessment with WAIS-IV and WMS-IV (2013)

Some of his books have been translated into Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. In addition, he has authored or coauthored approximately 30 journal articles, 12 technical reports, and 10 other book chapters.

Dr. Weiss holds a PhD degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Texas A&M University, and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Trinity University. He lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife of 28 years, Judy Ann. The Weiss’ have two adult sons.

Dr. Saklofske is a Professor in the Division of Applied Psychology at the University of Calgary. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Saskatchewan and Swinburne University, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science. Dr. Saklofske has published more than 150 journal articles and book chapters on intelligence, personality, individual differences and psychological assessment. As well, he has written or edited books on the Wechsler intelligence scales, personality and intelligence, exceptional children, and educational psychology. He is the Editor of the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment and the Canadian Journal of School Psychology and Associate Editor of Personality and Individual Differences.

About the Author

Tom Pirnot received his bachelor's degree in music from Wilkes College and his PhD in mathematics from The Pennsylvania State University. He taught both mathematics and computer science at Kutztown University for thirty eight years. He has long been an innovator in liberal arts mathematics, writing his first text Mathematics: Tools and Models with Dalton Hunkins in 1977 which introduced topics such as apportionment, graph theory, and modeling to liberal arts students. His current text, Mathematics All Around, is now in its fourth edition. Tom continues to enjoy the loving support and encouragement of his wife Ann, their four children, and three grandchildren.

Good math book, but has answers for most questions printed right after questions so it made it a bit hard to figure out before seeing the answer.
Some parts seems a bit confusing because it goes on and on in different examples making it harder to comprehend.

Great information & pictures

Very informative book covering literally everything about Killifish, the book is written in a very useful and detailed way but also in a writing style that is very easy to understand and learn from. I've read a few books related to these kind of fish but none of the others have even came close to the usefulness found in these pages.

One of the main things that I really admire about this book are the mass amount of very colorful and high quality photographs that are incorporated into different chapters of the book, they add a great visual aid to the information and it helped me understand the topics that are discussed in great detail. These fish are fascinating and the book answered all my questions that I had previously about them

Great introductory book on killifish

Although I've raised tropical fish for 40+ years I've never had killifish.. This book is a great introductory text that lays out all aspects of keeping them; buying them online, or raising them from eggs. The illustrations are numerous and well done. One of the best introductory books on any subject I've ever bought. Totally recommend for the beginning killikeeper.

During my first weeks in college in America, I made desperate phone calls to my mother begging for recipes and even just wanting to know how to cook plain rice, as you might also have done. Alas, while my mother was an excellent cook, she was no expert in imparting cooking instruction over the phone or even in writing. Trying to follow her directions, I nearly killed myself, not to mention many of my friends. But I did eventually learn to cook well with the help of family, friends, and much more effective in-person lessons from my mother when she would come to visit. It is easier these days to Google recipes or search on YouTube but for an inexperienced cook it can still be quite confusing and intimidating. So I've decided to collect all the information that you will need to start cooking Pakistani and North Indian food in one place, and I have very carefully written down exact recipes that are easy to follow.

the fact is that this is an excellent cookbook. That's it

Okay, the fact is that this is an excellent cookbook. That's it. I just made the vegetable potato dish, I forget the name at the moment. But it came out perfectly by following the very simple directions. Why aren't all cookbooks this clear and lucid? No one knows. Most people are too stupid to be simple, I guess. You will actually use this cookbook, unlike all the other cookbooks sitting around your house. Brilliant.

This is *real* south-Asian food, and it's sublime.

I've always loved food from this region, but hadn't had much success in cooking it, until now. I've cooked a number of dishes from this cookbook so far, and have been uniformly thrilled with the results.

The key to its success is down to two factors. First, the clarity of the instructions. It's very hard to go wrong if you pay attention. And second, the author doesn't compromise on ingredients. If a particular spice is needed, he'll tell you, and it is completely worth hunting it down. If you're living in the West, you mightn't find it in your local supermarket, but you will find it at an Indian grocer or online, and you must. It makes the difference between the one-dimensional flavours of what passes for south-Asian food in many cookbooks, and the deep, rich and complex tastes of the real thing.

Some Cookbooks Are Frighteningly Lucid, and Those Are The Ones To Buy

Have you read some North Indian recipes and thought: I cannot possibly follow these instructions, no matter how badly I want to eat this dish. That's a basic and very disappointing experience in the life of a cook at any level of skill, and with regard to this repertoire, it never has to happen to you again.

The recipes of Abbas Raza are hugely lucid, and they assume you are wholly unfamiliar with North Indian food prep. As Abbas himself once was -- he had grown up eating it in Karachi, but could not, as a homesick graduate student, cook a bit of it. It took him many years to achieve his current brilliance as a cook. He has high standards and he met them. You will benefit right away.

The recipes I've tried have been marvelous additions to my repertoire, and confidence inspiring too. If you want to dazzle your friends with the taste of the Mughal Empire, you can do that now. You can have only made hot dogs before, but these recipes will see you through. Buy the book -- start living in a bigger world!
